Remove the old "Sail Panels" (speaker covers) by removing the coat hanger hooks with a Philips screwdriver then lift sail panels up and out to remove them.
Remove the staples that retain the factory fabric if needed.
Remove the fabric from the backing board by pulling it away slow. Be sure to leave the foam backing if present.
Using the old material as a guide lay the old material over top the new material and cut out the new material to size.
Using the old material as a guide cut out the new material. Give your self a ½? of additional new material. A little extra is better then not enough!
Lay out some cardboard to protect your work area from the glue you are about to spray. Now lay the newly cut material out flat face down on the cardboard. Lay out the old sail panel backing board as well. Now take some of the 3M Trim Adhesive and spray a light coat on both the sail panel backing board and on the backside of the new material. Be sure to read the 3M instructions before spraying. After the glue as set on both surfaces align the new material and place it over the backing board. This should hold the two materials together.
Now take the scissors and trim off the excess material that is not needed leaving about a ½? of material to fold over the edges of the backing board.
Now take some scissors and cut a small ?V? in each corner. This will allow the material to be fold over the ends of the backing board.
Now take the hot glue gun and placed a bead of glue along the backing boards edge. You can do as much as a 4" to 6" strip at one time. Take your time and to not use an excessive amount of glue.
Fold the material over the edge onto the glue. Besure not to get the hot glue on your fingers it may burn you. Becareful not to get any glue that may have gotten onto your fingers onto the material.
Continue this until you cover all the edges of the backing board.
