We started by fully disassembling the body. We removed the interior, engine, transmission, rearend and everything else that was bolted down. From there we stripped all of the body panels down to bare metal. The car had been re-painted once before.
We placed the shell of the body on a body roller so we could access every nook and cranny. After cleaning the under coating and dirt from the under carriage we stitched welded all the factory seams on the sub frame to help strengthen the body.
As you can see we painted the body while it was on the body roller. We actually spun it around during the painting process. Prior to painting we had to clean every nook and cranny as well. We chose to use GM 2002 Artic White. This is the brightest white I seen.
Thank GOD for the shop lift. We use it to remove the body from the body roller.
Finally a rolling chasis!
Finished Product. Ready to roll. We are planning to add some graphic to the hood and deck lid soon.
